Get your score cards out…these are the latest changes at the Memphis sports talk radio stations.
The Gary Parrish Show with Geoff Calkins is moving to ESPN 92.9FM/680AM starting January 4th. It will air Monday through Friday from 4pm-6pm in Memphis. Before joining ESPN 92.9, they co-hosted a sports talk show on 730AM Fox Sports in Memphis.
Dan Wolken has joined the 730 Fox Sports team with Harry Long. The Dan Wolken Show also debuts January 4 and will air weekdays 11am-1pm.
Looks like WHBQ-AM – Sports 56 will continue with their current line-up.

(MEMPHIS, TN) December 28, 2009– Entercom Memphis today announced ESPN 92.9FM/680AM SportsRadio is the new broadcast home for The Gary Parrish Show with Geoff Calkins which will debut January 4th, 2010 from 4pm-6pm. As the lead college basketball columnist for www.CBSSports.com, Parrish has established a reputation for creative and investigative writing, won multiple national awards. Likewise, Calkins is the accomplished and critically acclaimed sports columnist for The Commercial Appeal. Geoff and Gary developed their radio partnership over the last two years at another local sports station and most recently received the highest Arbitron ratings for a sports show in their time period.
In their respective roles Parrish and Calkins have a front row seat to all of the major sporting events like the SEC Championship, the NCAA Final Four, the Super Bowl and more. They will provide unique, personal insight on the news and events that shape the sports world. ESPN 92.9FM/680AM SportsRadio is Memphis’ first all sports radio station on the FM dial.
ESPN 92.9FM and ESPN 680AM simulcast 24 hours a day on both frequencies.

730 FOX SPORTS ANNOUNCES THE COMMERCIAL APPEAL’S MEMPHIS TIGERS BASKETBALL BEAT REPORTER DAN WOLKEN AS NEWEST MEMBER OF THEIR BROADCAST TEAM
(MEMPHIS, TN) December 29th, 2009 – Simmons Media Group today announced the addition of The Commercial Appeal’s Memphis Tigers basketball beat reporter Dan Wolken to their broadcast team. The new program will launch Monday, January 4th, 2010 and airing weekdays from 11am to 1pm.
Dan Wolken is in his fourth year serving as the Memphis Tigers Basketball beat reporter. During his tenure in Memphis, Dan has established himself as the number one source for insight into the Tigers’ basketball program. Dan’s body of work includes his coverage of the Memphis Tigers’ journey to the 2008 Championship Game in San Antonio, the departure of former Tiger coach John Calipari, the hiring of current Tiger coach Josh Pastner, and the development towards Pastner’s 2010 top-rated recruiting class.
Dan will be joined in the studio by Harry Long. For the past two years, Harry has been a consistent contributor on 730 Fox Sports’ The Chris Vernon Show, as well as a frequent fill-in host on 730 Fox Sports programs. Long said of the new program, “Since moving to Memphis, I have learned there is nothing that the sports audience of this area is more passionate about than Memphis Tigers basketball.
