Today, the University of Memphis Tiger basketball team replaced UNC as the number one team in college basketball on the AP and ESPN/USA rankings! (Week 11) Memphis and Kansas are currently the only undefeated teams this season. If you have not seen the Tigers play, watch them in person or on TV, it’s quite a treat. Go Tigers Go!
MLK Day
Tomorrow is the federal Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. The annual celebration of MLK’s life, has become synonymous with his vision of civil rights. April 4, 2008 will mark 40 years since his assassination in Memphis. If he had lived, he would have celebrated his 79th birthday on January 15th.

Tiger Attacks Dog
On the heels of the horrible Tiger attack at the San Francisco Zoo, a stray dog was attacked by a Sumatran Tiger at the Memphis Zoo. Tuesday, January 8, the retriever mix jumped over a wall and swam across the 12 foot moat into the center of the tiger habitat where she encountered the 225 pound tiger. The dog is expected to make a full recovery.
